Matthew Hansen

Take the opportunity to meet artist Matthew Hansen at the Red Autumn Art Festival on Saturday, October 5th. Matthew is a talented color pencil artist known for captivating rustic old trucks, barns, and animals. Now 53 years old, Matthew discovered his love for drawing in third grade. It all started when a teacher’s aide, herself an artist, created a race car chart for Matthew’s reading challenge. Determined to replicate it, Matthew practiced until he mastered the technique. His friends and teacher recognized his potential, encouraging him to pursue art further. After a 15-year hiatus from art due to financial constraints, Matthew reignited his passion by creating artwork for his Father-in-law’s 90th birthday. The positive reception from family and friends inspired him to showcase and sell his pieces. Over the past two years, Matthew has participated in various festivals in Clarksville, Altus, Mountain View, and Little Rock, Arkansas. Operating under the name Hillbilly Ozark Art, Matthew is excited to meet new people at Red Autumn Art Festival on Saturday, October 5th. His journey from rediscovering his artistic talent to becoming a successful artist is a testament to his perseverance and dedication.
